As a Certified Eating Disorder Registered Dietitian, I guide clients to eat in a practical, consistent way, taking into account lifestyle, culture, background and health concerns. Intuitive Eating and Health at Every Size are foundational to the work I do.
Diet culture and body image demands have broken our deep connection with the pleasure of food and our innate ability to recognize and respect our hunger and fullness. I love talking about up-to-date nutrition science, real nourishment and how to enjoy eating while optimizing physical health and mental well being.
Weight and size have no bearing on health, and dieting to lose weight or change your body can impact body composition and nutrition status negatively. I guide clients to balanced and consistent eating patterns to ensure a healthy body and a healthy mindset, regardless of size.
I specialize in the treatment of anorexia nervosa, atypical anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder, avoidant restrictive food intake disorder (ARFID), eating disorders not otherwise specified (EDNOS), orthorexia, and disordered eating. I am a certified eating disorder specialist and supervisor, accredited by the International Association of Eating Disorder Specialists, and am trained in Family-Based Treatment (FBT) for eating disorders. Whether stepping down from a higher level of care or exploring if food or body image issues are hindering your life, we can work on your relationship with food and body, dispel nutrition myths and move toward a life free of food fears or concerns.
For the past 10 years, I have worked in an eating disorder treatment center with inpatient, residential and PHP/IOP levels of care, serving patients of all genders, ethnicities and diagnoses. Working at higher levels of care has afforded me the opportunity to treat patients working on complex trauma with compassion and an understanding that nutritional restoration or support is key to recovery. Trauma-informed nutritional support can be key when addressing difficult trama in therapy.
